One Holocaust denier refrain: Israel created the Holocaust myth to raise money for their country. Seriously?!!!! Israel is a critical strategic ally for the United States in the Middle East. They’re also a cockeyed bargain in the money-for-allies department.
- During the Cold War, captured and delivered Soviet technology to the US
- Gathered vital intelligence
- Tested and proven American military technology
- Helped develop some pretty amazing military technology, too
Alexander Haig summed it up well:
“Israel is the largest American aircraft carrier in the world that cannot be sunk, does not carry even one American soldier, and is located in a critical region for American national security.” — From The Atlantic, “Is Israel America’s Ultimate Ally?”
Oh, also: Israel buys well over $10b in US goods, every year.
In exchange, America provides about $5b in annual government aid. In marketing, we call that “High Return on Investment.” Clients love it. Americans should, too.
Israel doesn’t need to fake the death of 12 million innocents (6 million Jews) to get financial support.
A Mercedes In Every Pot
One Holocaust denier web site claims that if the US didn’t support Israel, every American could own a Mercedes.
First: We buy American, you assholes. Every American could own a six-pack of Ford Fiestas.
Second: We couldn’t buy enough Mercedes. In 2016, the U.S. spent—wait for it—$601b on our own military. Six. Hundred. And. One. Billion. Dollars. Even if we stopped spending that, that’s only 12 million Mercedes. Learn your math, ingrates. This means I’m not going to get a Mercedes. I’m not even going to get a Fiesta.
The Vast Conspiracy
More Money Please
So yeah, Israel has easier ways to make money than faking one of the worst crimes in human history. The Holocaust was, unfortunately, very real.
